Zoll Defibrillator iPad App
The Zoll Defibrillator application came out of a need to improve defibrillation times. The requirement for time to defibrillate, according to the national patient safety standards, is under 3 minutes. After doing a poll of Washington Hospital Center's average in 2008, SiTEL found that as an organization MedStar Health did have room to improve to better meet those safety standards.
The idea to create an iPad app to supplement existing Code Blue training came after a casual conversation between Cheryl Camacho, a clinical educator for the Clinical Simulation Center (CSC), and Rob Hafey, lead programmer for the SiTEL Digital Media Services team. Currently the application is under testing.
